Chlorine & pH Dosing Pump System for Hotel Borehole Water – Johannesburg
Project type
Dosing Pumps
Date
February 2025
Location
Johannesburg
Project type
Chemical Dosing System
Project Overview
We were contracted by a hotel in Johannesburg facing water quality issues due to the use of untreated borehole water. The water supply had low pH levels and bacterial contamination, posing health risks and infrastructure damage to the hotel’s plumbing and hot water systems.
Our Solution
To resolve these challenges, we designed and installed a fully automated chemical dosing system, ensuring safe, balanced water quality throughout the facility.
✅ 1. Chlorine Dosing System
-Integrated a chlorine dosing system to disinfect borehole water.
-Ensures all reticulation lines and storage tanks remain sterile.
-Chlorine residual maintained between 2–5 ppm.
-Controlled via flow switch to activate dosing only when booster pumps are in operation.
✅ 2. pH Correction System
-Installed a sodium hydroxide (caustic soda) dosing system to neutralize acidity.
-Maintains pH between 7.0 and 7.5 to prevent corrosion in:
Copper piping | Plumbing fixtures | Boilers and heating systems
-Helps extend the lifespan of the hotel’s infrastructure.
System Components
- SEKO dosing pumps for both chlorine and pH dosing
- Two 500L chemical tanks to minimize refill frequency
- Flow switch automation: dosing systems only operate when booster pumps are running
