Borehole Water Filtration System at Hotel in Somerset West, Cape Town

Project type

Borehole Water Filtration

Date

September 2025

Location

Somerset West, Cape Town

Project Overview

A hospitality client in Somerset West, Cape Town faced rising municipal water costs. To improve sustainability and reduce expenses, we designed and installed a complete borehole water filtration system to supply the property with clean, safe water. Water testing revealed bacteria and suspended solids, rendering the borehole water non-potable. Our goal was to achieve drinking-water quality through reliable, multi-stage treatment.

The system integrates:

- 10G Ozone Circulation Unit – sterilizes and oxidizes contaminants in the raw water tank.
- Low-Energy Stainless Steel Pump – transfers water to the filtration line efficiently.
- Self-Backwashing AFM Vessel – removes oxidised solids and silt automatically.
- Activated Carbon Vessel (GAC Coconut Shell) – eliminates odours, chlorine, and organics.
- Dual 3-Stage Big Blue Filters (5–1–0.1 micron) – ensures ultra-fine polishing and clarity.
- Capacity: 3,000 L/hr (±30,000 L/day) – continuous, potable water supply for hotel operations.

Project Outcome

The system delivers a sustainable, low-maintenance water solution, cutting municipal dependency while meeting potable standards. The client benefits from consistent water quality and significant cost savings.

Client Benefits

- Reduced municipal water costs
- Sustainable borehole integration
- Safe, potable water for all uses
- Automated backwashing, minimal maintenance
- Fully installed, tested, and commissioned
