Our drinking water purifier domestic countertop systems comprise of a One / Two and Three Stage Water Filter configuration, which is based upon three separate treatment stages within one complete Drinking Water Purification System.
 
The 3 stages are:
Stage 1 – Sediment Filter Cartridge, Replace 6 months.
The first stage of the Reverse Osmosis unit is a 5um (five micron) sediment filter that removes sediment and other particulate matter like dirt, silt and rust which affect the taste and appearance of your water.
Stage 2 – Carbon Block Filter Cartridge, Replace 6 months.
The second stage is a carbon block filter (CTO). This ensures that chlorine and other materials that cause bad taste and odour are removed.
Stage 3 – Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) Filter Cartridge, Replace 6 months
The third stage is a GAC (Granular Activated Carbon) filter. Granular Activated Carbon has superior absorption characteristics and effectively reduces the turbidity, chlorine, colloidal chemicals and volatile organic compounds (VOC) from water.  
 
How it works:
The Countertop Home Drinking Water Filter System uses filter cartridge technology to filter water. 
The un-purified water feed is piped into the countertop drinking water purifier, the water flows from the inlet side of the top fixed end of the water filter housing. The filter housing has an inlet and outlet port, this allows for the water to flow in and out. The water then reaches the bottom chamber which is the movable end of a water filter housing, the water filter cartridge is seated in the centre of the housing creating a seal between the top and bottom parts of the filter housing, this allows the water to only travel through the surface area of the filter cartridge whereby filtration takes place.
The purified water will follow the easiest path through the outlet port of the water filter housing, the stages are connected in series and the water then flows through the inlet of the second stage filter and undergoes the next process of water filtration and so on to the third stage. 
 
A countertop water filtration system can have many different water filter cartridge configurations, the cartridges can be selected to suit many different water filtration requirements, making it a versatile and economical water purifier.
